Chapter One
The Catalyst: High-Stakes Delivery
We began as a loose coalition of pioneers forged in high-pressure global summits like the World Economic Forum. While we delivered world-class processes and methods for decision-making based on the MG Taylor system, we hit a ceiling.
For years, we remained unable to grow the organized community beyond several dozen people. More critically, we struggled with a fundamental friction: the coalition often acted as a competitor to the very individuals and enterprises it was meant to empower.
We were a high performing community, but one that lacked the structure to scale without conflict.
Chapter Two
The Realization: A Peril of Oneness
Slowly, an unspoken pattern emerged from the fog of our delivery work: we simply could not reap the benefit of being an organized community because of our market-facing identities as individuals and enterprises.
We lived with the reality of heroic survival for many years, moving from project to project while harboring a deep desire to grow into something more than a loose coalition.
We recognized that our stewards and desired stewards were hubs of their own vibrant communities, leveraging broader methods, models, and frameworks. Yet, we lacked the neutral platform required to support this value web of value webs without getting in our way.
Chapter Three
The Proof: A Global Learning Community
Our development reached a turning point through the organization of a dedicated Learning Community. This initiative provided the empirical proof we needed: there was indeed an appetite for growing our craft beyond our origin.
By engaging both our immediate community and extending an invitation to those in adjacent communities, we confirmed that an interest to evolve collaborative practices exists in the world.
More importantly, we recognized that this new community didn’t need us to do the work for them; they needed an infrastructure to help all of us expand our capabilities in order to grow.
Chapter Four
The Evolution: A ValueWeb of Value Webs
Today, we have made the evolutionary leap to become The Association of Value Webs. We have moved from an entity that focuses on one system and competes for delivery to a professional orchestrator that serves diverse practitioners with adjacent lineages.
By providing an ever-evolving knowledge base, professional forums around the world, and a standard for collaborative decision-making, we act as the professional backbone for value webs of all sizes.
We have traded the limits of the past for a scalable future of collective wisdom.
