We use three cookies. All three are needed for the site to work. We do not use analytics, advertising or social media cookies, and we do not track you.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. It lets the site recognise your browser on the next page you visit — which is how you stay logged in as you move around.
The cookies we use
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
sessionid |
Keeps you signed in as you move around the members’ area. Without it you would have to log in on every page. | 2 weeks |
csrftoken |
A security token that proves a form was submitted by you, on our site — not by someone else’s page pretending to be you. | 1 year |
django_language |
Remembers the language you chose. Only set if you actively choose one. | Until you close your browser |
All three are set by tavws.org, read only by tavws.org, and shared with no one. Because they are strictly necessary we do not ask for your consent to set them — but you can block them in your browser if you wish.
When you pay
Card payments happen on Stripe’s own checkout pages. Stripe sets its own cookies there, on its own domain, to complete the payment and detect fraud. Those are covered by Stripe’s privacy policy, not this one. Stripe sets nothing on tavws.org.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
Blocking the three cookies above will stop you being able to log in, because they are what makes logging in work.
If we ever introduce a cookie that isn’t necessary, we will ask you first — you will be able to accept or refuse in one click, and change your mind later.
